Hales Group is seeking a Housing Officer to join our client’s team on a temporary basis until 31st March 2025. The role will be to effectively manage the letting of properties in a given area patch and to provide a proactive and efficient housing management service for residents.  Your Key Responsibilities as Housing Officer will be;
  • Be responsible for the letting of Void properties in a given geographical patch and to keep the loss of void rent to a minimum.
  • To liaise with colleagues from associated teams to select and appropriately let properties to those in housing need, tenants are supported and tenancies are sustained.
  • To effectively monitor and enforce Tenancy conditions that reflect the organisations policies and procedures.
  • Be accountable and proactive in listening and responding to Tenant’s needs in the communities where they live.
  • Where appropriate effectively signpost and liaise with third parties in order to give further guidance and advice for residents
  • To ensure that all policies and procedures carried out in an efficient and effective manner that cost effective and value for money.
  • To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required compatible with and/or arising from those listed above.

 To be considered for the role of Housing Officer you will have;
  • Three years’ experience of working in a housing environment
  • Knowledge and good understanding of Housing Law, Housing Benefit regulations, Welfare Rights
  • Use of software systems in day to day duties.
  • Dealing with the public in difficult situations
  • Liaison with other partners and agencies
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external agencies / partners / departments as well as tenants
  • To be able to recognise potential wider social concerns that may be apparent when carrying out duties such as child welfare, domestic violence et
