Overview:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialist, adapted heavy goods vehicles used in the municipal and environmental waste sector. Their products are regarded to be at the top end of the market in terms of quality and innovation. As they continue to grow, they are now looking for a field based Sales Manager who will have responsibility for developing sales throughout the South East region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating sales in the South East region through active new business development and managing existing key accounts within the region.
  • Using your relationship building expertise to create opportunities with customers in the local authority and commercial waste sectors.
  • Analysing local market trends, competitor activities, sales data and customer preferences to identify opportunities to further business growth in the region.
  • Prospecting, building the sales funnel and managing sales pipelines to deliver consistent sales performance.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues to develop joint sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare sales reports and analysis.


Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a new business sales or account management role. This may have been with large capital equipment sales but not necessarily.
  • Knowledge of building relationships with customers in the local authority or commercial waste sectors would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • Able to pitch and close deals based on life cycle costs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Track record of delivering consistent sales performance in previous roles.
  • Able to travel across the South East region and manage a territory effectively.
  • Able to attend trade shows and exhibitions and represent the business effectively and professionally.
  • Clean driving licence.
