As our client is a fresh food company they do spend quite a lot of time washing down, making sure their processing equipment is clean. Which means our client's do wear wellies and have a lot of water around at washing times. We have an induction pack to cover the key elements for us.
Special requirements tend to be around food supply - we are a nut and sesame free site, and smoking is limited to the designated area on site.
Key responsibilities
- Understand and adhere to SOP's across all production and growing processes.
- Correctly operate machinery with the safety of yourself and your work colleagues.
- Ability to adapt and change machine settings confidently to maintain quality & output.
- Follow the PPE requirements upon entering and leaving the factory.
- Undertake and satisfactorily complete any training assigned to you by the Company.
- Accurately complete all checklists, quality assurance documents and any other paperwork required in accordance with the Company processes to ensure transparency and trace ability.
- Report to the appropriate department any equipment faults which will either cause damage, impair its efficiency or is rendered unsafe to use.
- Ensure that equipment within the work area is kept of a high clean standard.
- Ensure hygiene and health & safety are followed upon entering and leaving the factory.
- Maintain clean work stations, free of congestion.
- Undertake such packing operations as reasonably requested.
- Undertake general cleaning operations as reasonably requested.
- Undertake growing operations as reasonably requested.
- Undertake appropriate training and be available to be deployed across growing and packing.
- Ensure sufficient training and sign off before carrying out any work procedure.
- Report any health and safety issues/hazards to the appropriate department.
- Keep up to date with food safety and adhere to the training and procedures.
Skills and experience
- Machine operation
- Attention to detail & ability to follow instructions
- Food industry experience is preferred
- Good teamwork & communication
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Qualifications required
Fork lift truck & PPT certification preferred.
Shift pattern/Hours
The main shift start at 6AM, and the second shift starts at 10am. The shift times are 8 hours with an unpaid hour for lunch.
