We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the leadership team. As CFO, you will be instrumental in driving the financial strategy of the business, optimising financial performance, and preparing the company for a successful exit through private equity or trade sale. This role requires a commercially astute leader with a strong background in financial management, M&A and exits, as well as the ability to influence at the board level and lead across all financial aspects of a high-growth organisation.   • Financial Strategy & Leadership: Work closely with the MD’s and leadership team to develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with the goals of growth and a successful sale / exit.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the board, providing clear financial insights, risk assessments, and recommendations for value maximisation.
  • Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring robust financial processes, systems, and controls to support the company’s growth trajectory.
  • Prepare the business for sale by managing due diligence, valuation, and financial readiness for potential buyers or investors. Engage with private equity firms, institutional investors, and strategic partners.
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations and management of the finance department, ensuring accurate and timely monthly management accounts and production of statutory accounts.
  • Oversee the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure financial sustainability and alignment with growth objectives.
  • Provide ongoing financial analysis and KPI reporting to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a change agent and oversee and improve financial systems, controls, and processes to ensure they are fit-for-purpose for a larger and potentially public or PE-owned company.
  • Implement robust risk management frameworks to protect the business from financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the board, investors, banks, auditors, and external advisors.
Person Specification Qualifications & Skills:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience
  • Experience as an FD / CFO within a fast-paced and high-growth SME / owner managed business
  • Proven track record in preparing and leading businesses through private equity or trade sale exits.
  • Strong background in capital raising / M&A, and managing relationships with PE firms, banks, and investors.
  • Experience in scaling companies and developing financial infrastructure, systems, processes and controls that support rapid growth.
