Description

Purchase Ledger Supervisor

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain the AP ledger and support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounts payable team to meet performance goals and maintain high standards of accuracy and productivity.
  • Provide training, guidance, and ongoing performance feedback to team members.
  • Coordinate workload distribution, monitor progress, and address any workflow bottlenecks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Procurement, Finance, and Accounting) to streamline workflows and ensure cross-departmental alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve disputes or payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate payment terms with vendors as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze AP reports, providing insights to management on cash flow, outstanding invoices, and departmental performance.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and reports.

Profile

A successful Purchase Ledger Supervisor should have:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • A thorough understanding of accounting and financial procedures.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
