We are seeking an Inventory Clerk to contribute to the continuous improvement of our supply chain function. The primary mission is to maximise customer service levels, optimise inventory, and ensure an efficient approach to all supply chain and project-related planning activities. This role is fully onsite, based in Luton, Bedfordshire, and reports to the Inventory Supervisor. You will also be groomed to fulfill the requirements of the role by the Inventory Supervisor who is also keen to train and develop the team.
Day-to-day of the role:- Part of a best-in-class inventory planning team, ensuring robust systems and procedures for the review, placement, progression, and delivery of purchase orders from 3rd party overseas factories.
- Responsibilities include:
- Checking, approving, and returning proforma invoices to suppliers.
- Raising any prepayments or Letter of Credit requests.
- Monitoring and maintaining our system with live delivery dates.
- Ensuring freight forwarder bookings are made in good time.
- Working with our warehouse team and freight forwarder to arrange a container booking into our warehouse.
- Ensuring all costs are loaded on our system in advance of the container receipt to maintain the accuracy of our costs.
- Completion of invoices and appropriate paperwork so invoices can be processed through our purchase ledger system.
- Managing the engraving process with a third-party supplier and ensuring all stakeholders are aware of the latest status.
- Managing the clearance of faulty warehouses and ensuring all stakeholders are aware of the latest status.
- Managing the recovery of agreed debit notes on our suppliers and ensuring all stakeholders are aware of the latest status.
- Generating monthly reporting information and providing commentary and analysis to support accurate interpretation and decision making.
