A unique position, this role will suit a highly commercial individual who can oversee procurement activities as well as make recommendations for revenue growth opportunities through analysis of the business's £600m annual spend.
This business is rapidly growing and insights derived from procurement analytics will help inform future investment decisions, making this a crucial role for their future growth plans.
Leadership experience will also be highly beneficial as you'll have 1 direct report and oversee an overall procurement team of 10.
You'll be working closely with the Managing Director and their leadership team, so you need to be comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders.
The role is Bedfordshire-based, with 3 days a week in the office and the rest spent working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a growth and development mindset for direct and indirect reports
- Identify business opportunities through the supply chain to support organic growth across the group
- Monitor and analyse market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities
- Implement procurement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage the procurement budget and ensure cost savings and efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain risks
- Work closely with key stakeholders in the group to understand and fulfil their procurement needs and business opportunities
