Role and responsibilities
- Develop individualised learning plans for SEN, considering their specific beads, strengths and areas of development
- Plan and deliver lessons through designing and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities of students with SEN.
- Assess and monitor progress by regularly assessing and monitoring students progress, using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods. Keep records of their achievements, challenges, and individualised targets
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with parents/guardians, sharing progress updates, discussing concerns and collaborating on strategies to support students' learning and development.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) within a KS1 setting.
- Strong understanding of individualised learning plans and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- A patient, empathetic, and inclusive approach, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for SEN education, with a drive to empower students and help them achieve their full potential.
