Are you a qualified bricklaying Lecturer or do you have excellent experience in the construction industry with a bricklaying background? If so, this could be the role for you. This is an exciting opportunity for a Bricklayer to work in an educational setting and share knowledge and skills with the next generation to ensure our students are prepared for the world of work and qualified to industry requirements.
The successful candidate may be teaching and assessing young adults across Levels 1 and 2 qualifications as well as on adult part-time courses. Our Bricklaying courses are delivered by tutors with extensive knowledge and professional expertise of the industry and our client is looking to develop there links with industry to further enhance learners experience on there programs.
As well as the relevant skills and industry standard qualifications in bricklaying, our client is looking for someone with an enthusiasm for helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential. Holding a teaching qualification and/or an assessor's qualification is desirable but not essential as training and the chance to achieve qualifications whilst working for our client will be provided
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach and manage learning activities on a range of courses provided by the client and associated subjects.
- Develop and prepare curricula, course plans, learning materials, assignments, activities and assessments for student learning.
- Undertake monitoring and assessment of student's course work, project work and examinations, and maintain up-to-date and accurate records of their progress and achievement. Act as an Assessor or internal verify, if appropriate.
- Participate fully in course team activities and act as leader of a course team or teams as appropriate.
- Assist with the admission, enrolment and induction of students.
- Organise student placements and visit students in the workplace, as required.
- Contribute to the development, promotion and marketing of new courses and new approaches to teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the review of learning programmes and to the implementation of quality improvement action plans, as part of the site quality framework.
- Provide high quality academic, pastoral and personal support for students, including acting as personal tutor to a group of students.
- Contribute to student recruitment through participation in marketing and promotional events, such as open evenings.
- Liaise with employers, parents, schools and other organisations as necessary to enable the learning requirements of students to be met.
- Supervise students in all contexts on premises and elsewhere when on site activities.
- Undertake regular staff development and professional updating and participate in the site appraisal scheme.
- Be familiar with Safeguarding requirements as outlined in the Safeguarding Policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
