Position Description:

As the RLDA Engineer you will be responsible for planning and instrumenting test vehicles that require datalogging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Design and Test Engineers to plan and execute tests.
  • Design and manufacture any fixtures/bracketry for sensor mountings.
  • Remotely provide data logging support during testing.
  • Basic knowledge of CAN.
  • Strain gauges, bridge configuration and application.
  • Basic knowledge and application of the following sensors:
    • LVDTs & RVDTs.
    • DC & ICP accelerometers.
    • Oil/Fuel/Brake pressure sensors.
    • K-type thermocouples.
  • Fundamental knowledge of motorcycles and their systems.
  • Carry out shakedown of instrumentation.
  • Basic analysis of data to ensure functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair data logging systems.
  • Keep the calibrations up to date for the sensors and data logging systems.
  • Basic electronic component knowledge.
  • Basic experience working with low voltage DC wiring:
    • Soldering, Crimping, Splicing, etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree - Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 3 years minimum experience in relevant field.
