Maintenance Engineer

Type: Permanent, continental shift (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Engineering Equipment: Oversee engineering equipment to develop and implement an effective maintenance schedule based on run hours, improving overall reliability.
- Perform Maintenance Tasks: Conduct maintenance on engineering equipment to enhance reliability and minimise downtime.
- Promote Best Practices: Collaborate with production personnel to improve the handling and installation/removal of tooling and ancillary equipment.
- Assist with Breakdowns: Support the team in resolving machine breakdown issues and provide engineering solutions as needed.
Main Duties
- Planned Maintenance: Execute planned maintenance on production machinery following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Diagnose and Repair: Identify causes of equipment breakdowns and focus on achieving a "First Time Fix."
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of plant downtime to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Tool Changes: Perform tool changes on production equipment according to established methods and quality standards.
- Record Keeping: Utilise the engineering computer system to log all work for accurate machine history and maintenance records.
- Documentation: Complete all operational documentation accurately and provide detailed handovers at the end of each shift.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to SOPs and site Health & Safety standards.
- Refurbishment of Parts: Refurbish spare parts and components as directed by Engineering Management.
- Support Projects: Work with contractors and project teams on installation work, supporting efforts to improve equipment reliability.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- An apprenticeship in a relevant field or comparable qualification/experience.
- A detailed understanding of engineering issues and improvement processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically assess requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to influence and collaborate at all levels.
