Quality Engineer, Manufacturing/Engineering, QMS, H&S, Lymington, Southampton to £37,000
A leading manufacturing firm based near Southampton are requiring a Quality Engineer with additional Health and Safey and Engineering skills. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining quality control systems, assuring key supplier conducting root cause analysis , driving continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable monitoring and compliance of manufacturing processes.
The Quality Engineer will also work with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure a collaborative and consistent approach to quality assurance and compliance with the Company’s procedures.
Main Duties
• Acts as Quality function lead for QEHS, supporting the wider Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety functions.
• Provide incoming inspections of drawing items
• Strong working knowledge of QMS ISO 90002015
• To participate in Process improvement activities, provide advice and practical assistance in the implementation of process improvements
• To complete root cause analysis and investigations , on production defects, supplier deliveries and customer returns
• Comple with and update as required the Quality Management, Environmental and Health and Safety management systems
• To perform Quality Assurance, Control and audit activities
• Collate data of non-conforming processes or products and contribute to monthly KPI reporting that help show real performance of Quality, environmental and Health & Safety performance
• To work within a team environment providing guidance, advice and assistance as required
The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills and good experience with quality assurance methodologies and proficiency in data analysis. They should be detail oriented proactive and committed to delivering product reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Experience in Quality / Process improvement in a manufacturing and design industry
• Experience with incoming inspection techniques for mechanical and electrical products
• Track record if implementing and driving measurable improvement programs
• Ability to engage throughout a multifunctional operation
