Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer Contract 2/3 months Location: Southampton
Full-time Contract On-site. Rate: Outside IR35
Main Job Duties:
- Apply strong knowledge of supplier development techniques.
- Interpret Mechanical and Electrical engineering drawings.
- Lead supplier audits and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Review and collaborate on supplier manufacturing processes for improvement.
- Assess manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety, and Environmental risks during supplier approval.
- Coach suppliers in Material Review Boards, Root Cause Corrective Action, and Non-Conformance Management.
- Work with internal departments to define process parameters and ensure supplier process capability.
- Support the Product Introduction Management process to meet required standards.
- Coach stakeholders in Quality Assurance Tools (PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
- Maintain working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, and Defence AQAPs.
- Utilize knowledge of measurement techniques including Metrology and Inspection Methods.
Essential Experience:
- Strong knowledge and experience in supplier development techniques.
- Proven history in Defence or Automotive supply chain management.
Desirable Qualifications:
- HND/HNC in manufacturing/engineering or relevant experience.
- Strong team player with problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
