Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer Contract 2/3 months Location: Southampton

Full-time Contract On-site. Rate: Outside IR35

Main Job Duties:

  • Apply strong knowledge of supplier development techniques.
  • Interpret Mechanical and Electrical engineering drawings.
  • Lead supplier audits and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Review and collaborate on supplier manufacturing processes for improvement.
  • Assess manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety, and Environmental risks during supplier approval.
  • Coach suppliers in Material Review Boards, Root Cause Corrective Action, and Non-Conformance Management.
  • Work with internal departments to define process parameters and ensure supplier process capability.
  • Support the Product Introduction Management process to meet required standards.
  • Coach stakeholders in Quality Assurance Tools (PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
  • Maintain working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, and Defence AQAPs.
  • Utilize knowledge of measurement techniques including Metrology and Inspection Methods.

Essential Experience:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in supplier development techniques.
  • Proven history in Defence or Automotive supply chain management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HND/HNC in manufacturing/engineering or relevant experience.
  • Strong team player with problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
