Logistics Analyst Job in Lymington (FMCG Industry)

Dovetail Recruitment are excited to be working with a product based company in Lymington who are going from strength to strength. They are now looking for a new Logistics Analyst to join their busy office and become an integral part of this creative product focused business, tracking the supply chain process in regards to product movements.

The Logistics Analyst will be a core part of the business and will liaise with clients, manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams. Experience in the fast moving consumer goods industry is essential, and experience dealing with suppliers in the Far East would be highly beneficial.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Logistics Analyst:

  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and freight forwarders to resolve any queries or issues.
  • Arranging and booking shipments.
  • Finding most cost efficient and time critical solutions for shipping requirements.
  • Maintaining, and updating relevant physical and digital files and inputting accurate data onto the businesses operating systems.
  • Liaising and negotiating on price and rates with freight forwarders.
  • Looking for new, innovative and flexible solutions for our shipping requirements.
  • Building new and existing relationships within the shipping and logistics industry to gain ideas and insight to improve ways of working.
  • Booking in deliveries with customer’s, working to their specific requirements.
  • Ensuring hazardous items are packaged and labelled appropriately for shipping. Working with the product manager to ensure correct requirements are followed by supplier.
  • Forward planning and forecasting to increase efficiency and save cost.
  • Ensuring documentation is accurate and correct.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • FMCG industry experience is essential and non-negotiable
  • Experience working with suppliers in the far east would be highly beneficial
  • Strong administration skills

Salary & Benefits:

  • Annual salary of up to £35,000 depending on experience
  • 22 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Free parking on-site
  • Hours of Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm
