Draftsperson HVAC Systems
Location: Lytham
We are currently looking for a Draftsperson for a great client of ours based in Lytham. The Draftsperson will be responsible for 3D modelling and 2D technical drawings of innovative heating solutions, ensuring that all documentation meets the required standards. This role offers a unique opportunity for those eager to progress in the field of Design Engineering, particularly within HVAC systems in the Building and Construction industry. The ideal candidate will actively collaborate with the engineering team and demonstrate a passion for expanding their technical knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineers to gather product requirements and design constraints.
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor (though SolidWorks or other CAD software experience is also acceptable).
Handle reverse engineering and create drawings from scratch when needed.
Prepare sheet metal parts and 2D piping/cabling routes for various projects (sheet metal experience is a plus, but not essential).
Extract dimensional data and present critical safety information in documentation.
Maintain and update technical drawings, including wiring and P&ID diagrams, ensuring that revisions are properly documented.
Use Autodesk Vault to ensure design history is preserved and updates are tracked.
Develop and maintain drafting standards in line with BS 8888, BS EN 22768-1, and BS ISO 7000.
Perform goods-in and first-off acceptance checks for newly produced parts.
Collaborate closely with a team of four engineers, including electronics engineers and managers, to cross-check designs and improve processes.
Assist with training junior team members on drafting best practices.
Participate in project meetings to provide input on design modifications and challenges.
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma or degree in Drafting, Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in an engineering context, with HVAC experience highly desirable.
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks or other CAD software experience also considered).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Familiarity with engineering standards and terminology.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A clear desire to progress into a Design Engineer role.
