Role Overview:We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Fire Protection Contracts Manager to act as the main point of contact for our clients, overseeing all stages of passive fire protection and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have strong fire safety expertise, excellent client management skills, and the ability to oversee a diverse team, including fire stoppers, engineers, tradespeople, a quantity surveyor, and administrative staff. This role will require a proactive and compliance-focused individual who is comfortable with site travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison with clients, building and maintaining strong relationships while ensuring their fire protection and maintenance needs are met to the highest standard.
  • Project Review and Advisement: Review job specifications, assess fire safety compliance requirements, provide expert guidance on project scope, and advise on solutions and improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Oversee all aspects of fire safety compliance across projects, ensuring that the latest fire safety regulations and standards are strictly adhered to.
  • Team Management: Manage and coordinate fire stoppers, engineers, tradespersons, the quantity surveyor, and administrative staff, ensuring they meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor ongoing projects, ensuring that all stages are progressing according to plans, budgets, and client expectations. Handle any on-site issues that may arise and ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Reporting and Communication: Regularly report project progress, compliance status, and key metrics to company directors, providing transparency and insights into ongoing projects.
  • Documentation and Compliance Audits: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive records, compliance audits, and relevant documentation to support project completion and regulatory inspections.

Requirements:

  • Certifications in Fire Protection: Must hold recognised fire protection certifications (e.g., FDIS, FIRAS, or equivalent).
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection, safety compliance, or maintenance management.
  • Knowledge of Fire Safety Standards: In-depth knowledge of current fire safety regulations, compliance standards, and best practices within the industry.
  • Client-Facing Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively advise clients and manage their expectations.
  • Leadership and Team Coordination: Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to inspire and guide staff towards shared project goals.
  • Willingness to Travel: Comfortable with regular travel to client sites as required by project needs. Some overnight stays may be required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IFSM, ASFP).
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
