Finishing Technician
Location: Bollington, Cheshire
Salary: £24,916 rising to £30,000 after a 3-month probation

Overtime Rate: 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays

Holidays: 5.5 weeks of Holidays

We are seeking a Finishing Technician to join our dynamic team in Bollington, Cheshire. You will play a key role in supporting the conversion operating team to ensure the safe, continuous, and high-quality production that meets customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Perform packing duties and quality checks to fulfil customer orders.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure smooth, uninterrupted workflow.
  • Proactively plan and prioritise tasks to keep production running seamlessly.
  • Maintain high safety standards, considering your own and your colleagues' wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with team members to drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.

Quality:

  • Comply with product and process specifications, quality standards, and work instructions.
  • Diligently perform and record product quality assurance tests and assessments to ensure high-quality outputs.

Technical/Operating:

  • Assist operators and other team members in identifying, moving, and preparing materials for processing.
  • Operate machinery to maximise throughput while minimising waste and ensuring the highest quality.
  • Conduct daily work area and machinery checks to drive reliability and ensure smooth production.
  • Maintain high levels of workplace organisation, contributing to an efficient and safe environment.
  • Provide training to colleagues on work tasks and offer cover for operators as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to safety, quality, cost, and service improvement projects across the company.
  • Propose continuous improvement suggestions and take a proactive role in driving positive change.
  • Ensure team-based asset care activities are effectively carried out and maintain area 5S standards through audits and actions.
