My Client, a foodservice buying & marketing consortium based in Macclesfield, now has an excellent opportunity for a Buying Assistant to join their team.

Reporting into the Trading Controller, you will work with the buying team to ensure all administration is accurate and up to date.

Day to day duties include liaising with suppliers, members and internal employees to support the buying and admin function. Creation, collation and distribution of promotional deals ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept and on time.

Duties include:

  • Support the buying function to ensure all admin is up to date and on time, such as price files, trading agreements and case sales.
  • Create, collate and distribute central promotions within the agree time scale, working closely with suppliers, buyers, marketing and members.
  • Manage case sales for own brand to record member compliance.
  • Manage member service levels to monitor supplier performance.
  • Support to own brand procedure and admin when launching and amending products.
  • Support the office function when no cover is available (phones, reception).
  • Attend team meetings when required.
  • Support the buying department and the overall business to ensure they continue to thrive.

The successful candidate will have experience in a Buying function and will be highly analytical with advanced Excel skills.

Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite as you will regularly be dealing with suppliers, clients and internal stakeholders.
