Technical BuyerBredbury £40,000 - £41,000Adept Resourcing are currently working with one of the most reputable suppliers to the oil and gas industries based In the Manchester area who are looking to expand their growing team with an experienced Technical Buyer on a permanent basis.The successful candidate will be working at one of their 3 sites based in the Manchester area and will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.Role and responsibilities of a Technical Buyer:

  • Extract drawings, part reports, from engineering drawings and database information to compile technical RFQ for Tier 2 suppliers and OEM part manufacturers.
  • Working in the purchasing department with a good understanding of RAW material specifications. Knowledge of common Oil and Gas standard materials is advantageous.
  • Allocating appropriate part numbers and raising PO's from requisitions whilst considering savings prior to ordering via ERP system
  • To help develop an efficient and effective purchasing department, specifically in areas of policy and procedure, experience in highly regulated environments such as Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Scientific etc
  • Assist in the purchase of ad-hoc materials/services as required by the production department to enable delivery requirements to be achieved
  • Liaise with Suppliers, Production Control and Quality Department for engineering drawing/specification changes.
  • To maintain, develop and improve wherever possible, company procedures, standards of quality and workmanship to BS EN ISO 9001 at all times

Job requirements qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Background / Experience in purchasing raw material, engineered products and services.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings is essential
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications.
  • Sub contract / OEM Manufacturing experience highly desired.

This is a permanent job opportunity direct through the company after a successful interview stage. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-3:30pm. The salary is £40,000-£41,000 depending on experience.
