HR & People Advisor

My client is looking for a proactive and dynamic HR & People Advisor to support their HR function and drive a positive culture within the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and progressive organisation, and the successful candidate will manage HR responsibilities and employee engagement, ensuring the organisation also meets its social value initiatives within their ongoing construction projects.

The HR & Culture Advisor will play a key role in shaping and developing a high-performing and engaged workforce that aligns with the strategic goals of the business. 

You will be responsible for the HR function, providing a strong influence on HR matters across the business.  You will have autonomy and a strong HR background with specific responsibility for adding value to the business and driving positive culture at all times. 

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity within the Mid Ulster area, with flexible start & finish times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to line managers to ensure HR compliance, policies and procedures, and best practice
  • To represent HR on business improvement and change programmes/projects
  • Ensure updating and management of HR administration and staff files
  • Proactively maintain and update own knowledge of HR issues including employment legislation, keeping updated in changes in legislation and practice, ensuring that knowledge is shared and acted upon within the team
  • Provide monthly reports and data analytics
  • Be a visible People & Culture Partner and focal point for HR excellence
  • Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role

What you bring to the role

  • A third level qualification in HR or related discipline. CIPD qualification preferred
  • Proven track record within HR, ideally coming from an HR Generalist background
  • The ability to communicate at all levels to get the best out of people
  • The ability to work independently with a breadth of HR knowledge
  • IT and system savvy, with previous experience operating HRMS and other software applications
  • Have strong and up to date knowledge and experience of employment law
  • Have a proven track record of developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and processes to drive a high-performance culture
  • Be a proactive team player who maintains a real emphasis on relationship building
  • Have a high level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information
