Oakley Hill is partnering with a growing independent accountancy practice based in Maidenhead, with a reputation for offering their clients excellent accounting and taxation support & services. Having recently secured a number of new clients they are seeking a proven Client Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their team on a part time (approx. 30 hours per week), permanent basis.

The firm provides accounts and tax compliance and consultancy services for a client base of mainly small to medium sized businesses and high net worth individuals. They provide bookkeeping and payroll services alongside bespoke accounts and tax advice.

The day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • General administration tasks including client onboarding
  • Bookkeeping duties
  • Assisting in the preparation of statutory and sole trader accounts
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Preparing CIS returns
  • Companies House compliance

The role involves dealing with source information provided by clients - in both digital and hard copy form, with a view to completing the required VAT/CIS return or accounts. A thorough understanding of double entry bookkeeping is essential.

Candidates will require the following experience & attributes:

  • Self-motivated and ideally have previous experience with an accountancy practice
  • Experience of working with one or more of the following accountancy software packages is required: FreeAgent/Xero/Quickbooks/Sage
  • Good general IT skills, with competency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently while utilising the support provided by the wider team

The role is office based, with potential for working from home in the future on an ad-hoc basis.

This is a part time, permanent role with approx. 30 hours per week - this can be performed over 4 or 5 days per week, depending on preference.
