IT Support Engineer

5 days onsite / Driving license required

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide onsite IT support to a variety of customer sites in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys solving technical challenges, and excels in delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second-line IT support, troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues onsite.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring excellent customer service and clear communication with clients.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating to higher-level support teams when necessary.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, system updates, and preventive measures to ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with team members and customers to recommend IT improvements and solutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work, including issue tracking and resolution notes.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably with onsite support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with hardware diagnostics and repair (PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues across various technologies.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for traveling between customer sites.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, AZ-900, Microsoft Fundamentals, Google Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar are advantageous.
  • Experience supporting Mac OS, cloud technologies, or virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
