Job Title: Materials Planning Manager

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Materials Planning Manager to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, procurement, and inventory control of raw materials and components necessary for production. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production flow, cost optimization, and meeting customer delivery expectations.
As a Materials Planning Manager your duties will include the below:
- Develop and implement material planning strategies to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to generate accurate demand forecasts.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimise holding costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure reliable delivery schedules and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring quality standards and on-time delivery.
- Negotiate terms with suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies and secure supply continuity.
- Collaborate with production planning to align material availability with production schedules.
- Ensure production plans are executable by maintaining accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing data.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory levels, material usage, and supply chain performance.
The successful Materials Planning Manager will ideally have the below experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in materials planning or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
