About the Role:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with autism and communication challenges, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a safe and nurturing learning environment. This role is ideal for graduates looking to develop a deep understanding of neurodiversity and therapeutic interventions before progressing into careers such as Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Clinical Psychology.
Your responsibilities will include:?? Assisting with personal care and feeding, ensuring pupils' well-being and comfort throughout the school day.?? Supporting the class teacher in delivering structured lessons tailored to individual learning needs.?? Using speech and language strategies to promote communication and engagement.?? Encouraging sensory and social development through interactive activities.?? Managing behaviour using positive reinforcement and autism-specific strategies.?? Accompanying pupils on school trips and outings, helping to expand their learning experiences beyond the classroom.?? Working closely with therapists to implement personalised learning and therapy plans.

What We’re Looking For:
?? Graduates with a degree in Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Health & Social Care, or related fields.?? Experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities, autism, or communication needs (voluntary or paid experience is welcomed).?? A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.?? Comfortable providing personal care and feeding support as part of a nurturing approach to learning.?? Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and therapists.?? GCSEs in Maths & English (Grade C and above).
