A really rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health support worker to work in a school in Maidenhead. This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children. A really fulfilling opportunity!

These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders. These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow. This can making learning really difficult, this is where you would come in.

As a mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health. You will be helping to make learning fun and engaging whilst also ensuring that learning is becoming concrete.

Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students. You will also help run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and exciting place. Behavioural management may also be required.

The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists and counsellors.

Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art or drama will also be at an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
