An outstanding specialist school in Maidenhead are on the hunt for a Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team starting ASAP.

The role as a Mental Health Support Assistant:

  • You will be directly involved in supporting students with their academic success as well as ensuring that their mental health is well taken care of.
  • You will encourage the children to do their best academically, as well nurturing their mental health. This will look like teaching them healthy ways to cope with their big feeling and adopting healthy coping strategies.
  • You will facilitate and use the intervention strategies that have been put in place by the class teacher as well as other educational and health care practitioners, ensuring that the students are getting the best out of their interventions.
  • You will also run small group interventions and prime and prep the students before they sit for their lessons with the class teacher.

What you need to be a great Mental Health Support Assistant:

  • Experience working with children is always a bonus but what counts more is personality!
  • To be successful in this mental health and wellbeing role you will need to be compassionate and kind, take initiative and be able to problem solve well.
  • You should also be able to engage well with the children and facilitate a safe an fun learning environment
