Role overview:

You'll have a critical role in leading the operations in data and technology, successfully delivering projects and systems against organisational objectives. To create, lead, and implement strategies that will improve data governance, system performance, and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing:

Strategic Leadership and Integration

  • Provide visionary leadership, expert guidance, and strategic insights across IT and data functions.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring seamless integration of IT and data capabilities throughout the organisation.
  • Support team growth through effective performance management, coaching, and mentoring to build a high-performing department.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee commercial processes, managing the departmental budget with attention to forecasting, setting, and monitoring.
  • Actively participate as a contributing member of the Senior Leadership Team, sharing updates on IT and data performance metrics.

IT Operations and Strategy

  • Implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy and road map, conducting regular audits, assessments, and testing to ensure data protection.
  • Collaborate with industry experts to assess new technologies for potential integration within the organisation.
  • Establish and maintain high-level relationships with hardware and software suppliers, managing negotiations to secure strong, ethical partnerships.
  • Develop a clear IT architecture road map aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Oversee the change, release, upgrade, and maintenance cycles of all IT services, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Foster a customer-centric IT service, monitoring outcomes and actively addressing user feedback.

Technical Advisory and Compliance

  • Serve as a technology advisor to senior leaders and managers, supporting policy development and project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with IT and security legislation, including the Data Protection Act, by maintaining effective policies and procedures.
  • Regularly assess internal customer satisfaction with IT services and pursue continuous improvement.
  • Manage licensing agreements with software and hardware vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
  • Guarantee the availability, reliability, and integrity of IT services to meet customer expectations and business continuity requirements.

What you'll bring:

  • Senior-level experience in IT leadership within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong background in IT and data management, aligning tech solutions with business needs.
  • Expertise in developing cybersecurity strategies, including audits and risk management.
  • Skilled in vendor negotiation and relationship management with tech suppliers.
  • Knowledge of IT architecture planning in line with organisational goals.
  • Familiarity with IT/data protection laws (e.g., Data Protection Act) and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial acumen in budgeting, and forecasting,
  • Strong people management skills, with experience in coaching and mentoring teams.
  • Proven collaboration within senior leadership, including reporting on IT metrics.
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate new technologies for business growth.

What can you expect?

Salary: Up to £100,000 per annum - negotiable

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Working model: Hybrid (1/2 days in office)

Employment: Full-time, permanent
