As the Finance & Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency and financial accuracy within a close-knit team. This position involves close collaboration with both the planning & customer services team in France and the local team to ensure product availability, timely delivery, and effective query resolution. You will also handle accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and support the Managing Director and Finance Director with ad hoc financial analysis.
Day-to-day of the role:Operations
- Lead the development and maintenance of a 12-month rolling forecast for all products.
- Validate forecasts and production schedules with the group planner in France.
- Organise monthly meetings with key distributors to confirm the rolling forecast and convert the immediate 3-month forecast into firm orders.
- Coordinate with transport partners and customs agents for shipments, ensuring compliance with post-Brexit regulations.
- Manage stock levels and conduct quarterly stock counts.
- Resolve customer service inquiries related to order changes, shipment tracking, and logistics complaints.
- Support the warehouse supervisor during peak periods and ensure all health & safety guidelines are followed.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to integrate promotions, new products, and discontinuations into the forecast.
- Manage the setup of new products in the ERP system and maintain up-to-date product information for customers.
- Prepare logistics and sales reports to support management decisions.
Finance
- Handle day-to-day processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Maintain cash books, post transactions, and prepare monthly bank reconciliation packs.
- Upload monthly and quarterly sales data into Power BI.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial requests and ensure the highest standard of financial reporting.
- Relevant education in accounting, business, or supply chain management. A university degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Experience with ERP systems and knowledge of bookkeeping; part-qualified accountant preferred.
