Join our FMCG client in the retail division as a Finance Manager, where you will play a crucial role in management accounting, forecasting, commercial analysis, and decision support. This position requires effective collaboration with Commercial Directors, Procurement teams, and the Head of Finance to maximise commercial opportunities and manage risks.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as a proactive Finance Business Partner to the commercial teams, providing support, challenge, and insight.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and relevant financial information & analysis to key stakeholders, including monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, variance analysis, and ad-hoc analysis to drive business performance.
  • Manage consignment reconciliation & margin management, analysis, and challenge.
  • Present and explain commercial department performance at Weekly Trading Board meetings.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to enable delivery of the targets.
  • Develop, challenge, and question the budget/forecast assumptions and KPIs.
  • Provide Monthly Review Packs & commentary.
  • Identify and explain business performance variances and recommend improvements.
  • Handle royalty & rebate calculations & returns, grower loan requests, and assess foreign currency requirements to produce forward purchase proposals.
  • Maintain strong financial controls across all areas and support the Head of Finance through analysis and project activity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified - CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
  • Experience in the fresh produce / FMCG industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Background in management accounting or financial analysis.
  • Proven ability to work closely with and influence non-finance managers & commercial teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and a results-driven attitude with a 'can do' approach.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrable experience in process improvement and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
