Cobb & Jones Recruitment are pleased to be working with a privately-owned multi-entity organisation on an exclusive basis, supporting them in their search for a new Group Finance Manager. A genuine local-success story, this company, born from humble origins over 50 years ago is now a major Kent brand with reputable projects across the region. They have a track record in retaining staff (and therefore knowledge) as well as attracting high-quality talent across all divisions.

As Group Finance Manager you will report directly to the Group Finance Director. This role manages the day-to-day running of the finance team and liaises with various departments across the business to provide finance support.

Responsibilities:

  • To manage and supervise the head office finance team.
  • To provide cover for the Finance Director and the Financial Controller when necessary
  • Involvement in quarterly forecasting, budgets and business plans.
  • Preparation of VAT returns.
  • Making recommendations to improve profitability and processes.
  • To assist and cover the payroll manager.
  • Development of new reports using COINS, Excel and Power BI
  • Financial, planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Assist with the production of the management and statutory accounts and liaise with the auditors
  • Carry out pre and post investment appraisals.
  • Improve cash flow forecasting.
  • Management of intercompany legers and reconciliation.
  • Create financial benchmarking.
  • Other ad-hoc projects.

Profile:

  • Formally Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with significant team management experience.
  • Experience in one of the following sectors - manufacturing, plant, engineering, construction, property.
  • Can evidence significant team management experience (circa 7 heads).
  • Believe in and uphold our company values.
  • Personable and approachable.
  • You must have an excellent level of computer literacy (with all Microsoft packages).
  • Advance knowledge of Excel would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of CIS and Domestic Reverse Charge VAT would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Be confident in communicating at various levels.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
