A housing provider is seeking an Interim Head of Governance and Risk on a 12 month FTC to oversee and enhance governance structures, manage regulatory compliance, and provide strategic risk advice at the highest level. Reporting to the Executive Team, this role ensures the organisation maintains robust governance processes and risk controls while continuing to evolve and improve.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading on all aspects of corporate governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Acting as the key liaison with the Board, Committees, and Executive Team, supporting decision-making through high-quality reporting and advice.
- Overseeing risk management frameworks, embedding a proactive risk culture across the organisation.
- Ensuring compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s Governance and Financial Viability Standard and other relevant frameworks.
- Managing policy reviews and ensuring governance documentation is up to date.
- Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring findings are addressed effectively.

- Proven experience engaging with Boards and senior leadership teams.
- Ability to influence at the highest level and drive a strong governance culture.
- A governance-related qualification (ICSA, IRM, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
