Reed Accountancy & Finance are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for a temporary role within a complex organisation managing multiple legal entities and business units. This leadership position is focused on driving process improvements, enhancing KPI reporting, and implementing system automation to increase efficiency and improve the supplier invoice processing.

Accounts Payable Manager Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage and support a team of approximately 7 staff, including Accounts Payable Supervisors, reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Director.
  • Allocate resources effectively across the teams to prioritise urgent processing, ensuring all processing is accurate, compliant, and facilitates timely payments to suppliers.
  • Maintain robust financial controls across all areas of Accounts Payable, ensuring they are functioning effectively.
  • Deliver a comprehensive suite of reports covering supplier management, KPIs, and cash flow projections on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Develop and monitor critical metrics and KPIs for the Accounts Payable Teams.
  • Stay informed on processes around supplier invoicing and organisational changes that could impact timely payments to suppliers.
  • Lead proactive support for systems development and automation, evaluating current processes, and driving efficiency in line with accounting policies, financial regulations, and best practices.
Accounts Payable Manager Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager role or similar, with a focus on process improvement and team management.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing sizeable teams.
  • Excellent understanding of financial controls, VAT compliance, and accurate coding.
  • Ability to provide quality information and reporting that supports business analysis.
  • Vigilance in protecting the business from fraud and error, with an awareness of potential scams.
  • Experience in systems development, automation, and process efficiency.
  • Excellent management skills and a member of a Corporate Finance Senior Management Team is desirable.
