About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Science Teacher to work at a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and engage students who may have faced barriers to learning, creating a positive and supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and accessible Science lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to engage learners working at varying ability levels.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes emotional well-being and encourages positive behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide holistic support.
  • Maintain up-to-date lesson plans and resources to meet curriculum requirements.

Qualifications:

  • QTS or relevant teaching qualifications, with experience teaching Science (preferred)
  • A passion for working with children with SEMH and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Strong classroom management skills and an ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Be a driver with access to your own vehicle.
