Role Overview:We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Animal Care Lecturer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students pursuing careers in animal care. You will teach both practical and theoretical aspects of animal care, ensuring students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the animal care and welfare industries.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons on a variety of animal care topics, including animal health, nutrition, behaviour, and welfare.
- Provide hands-on training, demonstrating animal handling, care techniques, and environmental management.
- Support students in their academic and personal development, offering guidance and constructive feedback.
- Develop and update course materials and resources to ensure they meet industry standards and trends.
- Track and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
- Ensure all health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are adhered to in practical animal care settings.
Key Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in Animal Care, Animal Management, or a related field (e.g., Level 3 or equivalent).
- Previous experience in the animal care industry, with practical knowledge of animal welfare and care techniques.
- Teaching experience is desirable, though not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students.
- A commitment to student success and a passion for animal welfare.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
