Job Overview:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing Building Management Systems (BMS) projects of varying sizes for my client. The role involves ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet customer satisfaction. Projects are typically fixed-price and executed for Mechanical and Engineering companies, end clients, and consultancy businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects according to my clients high standards and policies.
    • Manage projects from sales handover through to completion, aiming to improve gross margin beyond the initial quote.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Ensure health and safety management on all managed projects.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Regularly monitor, review, and report on project progress, delays, and resourcing changes to key stakeholders.
  • Financial Management:
    • Prepare sales valuations, variations, and handle customer orders before proceeding with work.
    • Manage the sales application process and approve purchase invoices.
    • Create purchase requisitions and manage purchasing processes for staff, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Ensure the use and maintenance of standard documents, including work schedules, technical submittals, RFIs, and risk registers.
    • Plan and document factory acceptance tests, commissioning, snagging, and training activities.
  • Support Activities:
    • Carry out engineering or commissioning activities as needed to support the team.
    • Ensure proactive communication with project coordinators regarding engineering and commissioning needs.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
