Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Quantity Surveyors, ideally from a M&E background, to join our client, a Tier 1 M&E contractor, on new build educational projects based in Southampton. The successful candidates can be at an intermediate or senior level and will play a key role in the commercial management of the building services part of the project and will work with our clients successful commercial team ensuring the financial and contractual success of all phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement: Lead and manage the procurement process, including tendering and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring best value and quality.
Valuations: Carry out valuations and prepare accurate and timely applications for payment, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
Cashflow Management: Monitor and control project cash flow, ensuring that financial performance aligns with budget expectations.
Monthly Reports: Prepare and present monthly cost/value reports, providing clear insights into project financial performance.
Legal and Contractual Knowledge: Provide expert advice on contractual and legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of commercial processes and the ability to maximize project profitability.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work, ensuring quality and compliance.
Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, taking initiative and driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the industry. 
Strong understanding of industry contracts.
Proficiency in financial management, cost reporting, and procurement processes.
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying.
