Our client, a design and build contractor specialising in bespoke residential projects, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in Kent. They are a family run business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality new build, refurbishment, and extension projects, they provide a seamless service from design through to construction.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of residential developments, managing costs and ensuring projects are delivered on budget and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential construction and a strong understanding of cost control, procurement, and contract management.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor - Role Overview:

  • Managing project costs from initial estimates to final accounts
  • Preparing BOQs, cost plans, and tender documents
  • Procuring materials and subcontractor packages, ensuring cost efficiency
  • Conducting cost analysis and value engineering to maximise project value
  • Managing contract variations, valuations, and final accounts
  • Ensuring all projects comply with budget constraints and financial objectives
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth project progress
  • Providing regular cost reports and forecasts to senior management

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor - Requirements:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in residential construction (design & build preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, cost control, and contract management
  • Familiarity with JCT and design & build contracts
  • Excellent numerical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving license
