Are you an experienced Wellbeing Manager with an interest in working for a public sector organisation that puts their customers first to create a safer future for everyone.

I am working exclusively with Kent Fire and Rescue Service on a permanent Health and Wellbeing Manager role where you will be responsible for designing, leading and proactively managing wellbeing strategies to enhance mental and physical health.

This pivotal permanent role will directly manage a team of three, along with overseeing four Welfare Officers and up to fifty Defusing Officer/Peer Defusers.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is a forward-thinking, modern fire and rescue service which aims to create a safer future for Kent and Medway.

Located close to the town of Maidstone, you will be able to work for the organisation on a hybrid basis, going into the office which is a listed building 3-days per week. There is free on site parking for all staff.

The Health and Wellbeing Manager job paying £47,076 - £52,397, will work closely with the Employee Relations team, Health and Safety team, Occupational Health and Diversity Inclusion Manager.

The Key responsibilities of this job include:

  • Designing, developing and implementing best practice wellbeing strategies.
  • Delivering wellbeing related training both in person and online.
  • Managing the wellbeing team and the out of hours on call welfare support team.
  • Providing advice to HR and managers relating to mental and physical health.
  • Managing the mental and physical wellbeing budgets and relevant third-party contracts.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced wellbeing professional with a qualification in one of counselling/psychotherapy, mental health or nursing. This post requires someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others. The role requires you to use evidence based research and data to help implement wellbeing initiatives.
