Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time) - Medway
Pay Rate: £88 - £90 per day
Are you passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Medway.
About Us:
- Supporting pupils aged 4 to 19 with complex needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Asperger's
- Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Mixed-gender school setting
- This role may require personal care, so you must be comfortable providing this support.
The Role:
- As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal growth
- Support students in managing their behaviour and understanding its impact
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other agencies to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Facilitate the delivery of highly personalised programmes to address individual needs
What We're Looking For:
- A compassionate and adaptable individual with a genuine interest in supporting young people
- Previous experience in education, care, or working with students with additional needs (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure

Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to an hour to work
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN), particularly PMLD, is advantageous
- Ability to provide personal care support, including toileting and feeding, as needed
- Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a positive approach
- Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and obtain clearances
- Hold, or be willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service
