Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time) - Medway

Pay Rate: £88 - £90 per day

Are you passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Medway.

About Us:

  • Supporting pupils aged 4 to 19 with complex needs, including:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Asperger's
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Mixed-gender school setting
  • This role may require personal care, so you must be comfortable providing this support.

The Role:

  • As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
  • Provide tailored support to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal growth
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and understanding its impact
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other agencies to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Facilitate the delivery of highly personalised programmes to address individual needs

What We're Looking For:

  • A compassionate and adaptable individual with a genuine interest in supporting young people
  • Previous experience in education, care, or working with students with additional needs (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to an hour to work
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN), particularly PMLD, is advantageous
  • Ability to provide personal care support, including toileting and feeding, as needed
  • Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a positive approach
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and obtain clearances
  • Hold, or be willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service
