Accounts Assistant
Based in Maldon, Essex
Full-time, Permanent position
Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 per annum

We are working with a leading construction contractor to recruit a skilled and experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team based in Maldon, Essex.

Duties:

  • Dealing with purchase invoices
  • Processing of subcontractor payments
  • Processing sub-contractor invoice retentions
  • Assisting with the processing of employee expenses & timesheets
  • Preparing weekly supplier payment run & notifying suppliers of any queries
  • Reconciliation of nominal Ledgers
  • Assisting with credit control - monthly debtors & retentions
  • Setting up new supplier and customer records - ensuring all relevant forms have been sent out and completed
  • Credit Control
  • Inputting information onto finance system and using Excel
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

  • Must have at least a Level 2 AAT qualification
  • Ideally experience within the construction sector - Eque2 & COINS experience desirable
  • Enjoy working within a team environment
  • Possess organisation and strong communication skills.
  • Have great attention for detail, with a clear focus on accuracy and timelines.
  • Be able to work effectively and accurately, while adhering to fixed/competing deadlines
  • Must have a positive approach to problem solving with the ability to assess and overcome obstacles, and the confidence to seek input and escalate matters when appropriate.
