Job Description: Credit Controller

We are currently supporting a national charity with over a century of experience in providing excellent services and support to their clients. Based in their Chorley office, this charity is seeking a highly skilled and professional Credit Controller to join their finance team on a 12-month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the credit control process, ensuring timely payments from clients and maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with the finance team to monitor and chase outstanding payments, resolve any queries, and assist in the preparation of financial reports.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively contacting clients to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Monitoring and managing client payment agreements and deadlines
  • Investigating and resolving any payment discrepancies or queries
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and analysis
  • Strong reconciliations and attention for detail will be required 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control and a proven track record of successfully managing outstanding payments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be interacting with clients and colleagues at all levels. You must also possess strong attention to detail, be highly organised, and have the ability to manage conflicting priorities efficiently.
