Contract Duration: 12-week temporary to permanent with a 9 week probation review to confirm permanent position

Pay/Salary:£12.50/hour, £26,000/annum

Working Hours:

  • Alternating weekly shifts:
  • Shift A: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Shift B: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Expected to start on the 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM shift for the first week
  • 40 hours per week (30-minute lunch break)
  • No overtime opportunities available.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use the order book to expedite orders and communicate with suppliers daily to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Place orders within the required timeframes, ensuring the best lead time, price, and delivery schedule.
  • Assist store colleagues with booking in goods/deliveries and correctly allocating stock into the storeroom.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist engineers on-site when they attend the office.
  • Complete necessary steps to source non-stocked parts, including assessing price, lead time, and delivery speed, and uploading the details into the stock systems.
  • Order stock required from suppliers to maintain inventory levels.
  • Perform manual handling of stock, including heavier items such as motors, pumps, and gas bottles, from deliveries to the storeroom.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Basic IT skills required, including monitoring emails, data entry, and using stock ordering systems.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in storeroom/store activities is desirable but not essential, although familiarity with a similar working environment is preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of manual handling tasks required in the role.
