Audit Assistant Manager Job Vacancy

We are delighted to be seeking a talented and ambitious Audit Assistant Manager to join a contemporary and forward-thinking firm of accountants in their Manchester office.

A regional firm with an excellent reputation and offering a flexible approach towards hybrid working, this role will suit an ambitious tax accountant, qualified toACA, ACCA, or CA level with at least one year of post qualification audit experience.

The role will include a high level of trust and autonomy as the post holder will make decisions on audit scheduling, planning, resourcing, budgets and communication with other relevant teams.

As such, we’re searching for a confident, technically excellent and motivated audit accountant who is able to oversee audits from planning to completion and can offer our clients enhanced knowledge and advice when it comes to risk. Job Purpose

  • Oversight of all audit planning aspects, working papers, fieldwork and completion work to bring the audit file to a stage ready for senior review and sign off.
  • Building close client relationship as one of the main points of contact throughout the whole process.
  • Managing a team in the field and the office, fielding queries, providing learning and development support and assigning tasks.
  • Financial statements.
  • Billing.
  • Communicating important changes in regulations and legislation with staff and clients.
  • Monitoring WIP, deadlines and targets.
  • Problem solving.
  • Reviewing all communication relevant to audits.
  • Assisting senior staff in business development, networking and supporting the onward growth of the firm.
  • Supporting the Audit Managers with ad-hoc projects as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACCA, ACA or CA qualified at least one year of post qualification audit experience within practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress
  • Technically efficient in all matters of audit
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Previous supervisory experience, with a positive attitude
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
