Job Title: Counter Fraud Analyst

Location: Tunbridge Wells or Manchester (Hybrid working, 1 day in the office)

Markerstudy is a leading provider of private insurance in the UK, insuring around 5% of the private cars on the UK roads, 20% of commercial vehicles and over 30% of motorcycles in total premium levels of circa £1.2b.  The majority of business is written as the insurance pricing provider behind household names such as Co-op, Sainsbury’s, O2, Halifax, AA, Saga and Lloyds Bank to list a few and Markerstudy also has a large and growing direct presence in the market as well.

Role Purpose:

Compile MI and reports on performance of the counter fraud and technical services teams whilst measuring and enhancing the performance or processes of the counter fraud system. This role will also involve active involvement in trend finding, analysis and feedback to group or department stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Production of high quality accurate reports and MI
  • Carry out root cause analysis
  • Develop new methods to identify fraud
  • Contribute to the development and testing of Counter Fraud systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain Counter Fraud databases
  • Ad-hoc tasks requested from various areas of the business
  • Regular analysis of system rules that protect the business and prevent exposure to fraud
  • Initial troubleshooting for systems and collaborating with suppliers
  • Responsible for fraud account administration
  • Continuously promote and adhere to our Customer Charter promises and Visions & Values
  • Where applicable, to adhere to Company processes with regard to FCA compliance and Treating Customers Fairly;
  • To ensure that DPA, FCA, TCF and other regulatory requirements are met.

Essential Skills

  • Advance user of Excel
  • Experience with SQL
  • Data analysis
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background in either Mathematics or Statistics
  • Insurance and fraud knowledge an advantage

 

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of SAS Enterprise Guide/SAS Studio
  • Report writing
  • Educated to degree level in a mathematical subject
  • Experience using Power BI
