We are looking for two diligent and professional Financial Accountants to join an Accounting & Finance team on a 2-year fixed term contract. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring financial compliance and reporting within a public sector department.

Our client is a prominent department within the public sector based in Central Manchester. With a workforce of over 1000 individuals, they are dedicated to enhancing the sector whilst also developing their employees careers. They offer hybrid working (2 days a week at home) and a competitive benefits package. The role is offered on a two year FTC appointment with a high likelihood of becoming permanent throughout your time there.

Description

As a Financial Accountant you will:

  • Oversee and manage daily financial operations.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the department.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the department's actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Producing statutory accounts
  • Manage the fixed assets
  • Review and prepare journals
  • Communicate effectively and accurately all financial information to stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A full Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA)
  • Prepared or audited accounts inline with accounting standards
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in the use of financial management software.
