We are looking for two diligent and professional Financial Accountants to join an Accounting & Finance team on a 2-year fixed term contract. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring financial compliance and reporting within a public sector department.

Our client is a prominent department within the public sector based in Central Manchester. With a workforce of over 1000 individuals, they are dedicated to enhancing the sector whilst also developing their employees careers. They offer hybrid working (2 days a week at home) and a competitive benefits package. The role is offered on a two year FTC appointment with a high likelihood of becoming permanent throughout your time there.

Description

As a Financial Accountant you will:

Oversee and manage daily financial operations.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
Develop budgets and financial plans for the department.
Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the department's actual performance compared to the business plans.
Producing statutory accounts
Manage the fixed assets
Review and prepare journals
Communicate effectively and accurately all financial information to stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

A full Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA)
Prepared or audited accounts inline with accounting standards
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
Proficiency in the use of financial management software.

Job Offer
