The Temporary Accountant will be responsible for intercompany transactions as well as VAT filings. This individual should be a motivated self-starter who can lead an end-to-end process, manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment and provide quality and accurate results on a consistent basis.
What You’ll Do…
- Support monthly financial close activities including accurate intercompany AP transactions.
- Lead continuous process improvement projects for VAT accounting and EC Sales Lists
- Reoncile and do the accounting for large intercompany accounts.Â
- Account for leases.
- Draft and post month end journals.
- Provide support to the European Controller on a number of accounting, finance and VAT projects.Â
- Answer queries and provide solutions to the financial controller.Â
- Provide justification for all VAT filings and provide documentation as required.
- Reconcile accounts payable, provide account coding, and support the AP function with accounting assistance.
- Accounting for payroll and financial and accounting support to the payroll team.Â
- Draft and file PAYE Settlement Agreements.
- Prepare and file Office for National Statistics surveys.
- Prepare data analysis on the performance of key business metrics.
- Prepare SOX Controls and Balance Sheet Reconciliations for quarterly and year end audits.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management.
- Provide support in the area of costing of manufactured goods.Â
- Be the back up in the area of percentage of completion long term contract accounting.Â
- Draft financial statemetns under UK GAAP.
- Account for the general ledger under US GAAP.
- Answer queries raised by the external and internal auditors.
What you will Bring…
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- 5 to 8 years of relevant financial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in a publicly traded company a plus.
- Relevant additional requirements:
- Roll-up your sleeves approach and ability to problem solve.
- Experience with accounting software applications, ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite required. Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud ERP is a plus.
- Demonstrated strength in communications and ability to multi-task in complex and dynamic environments.
