VisionFR is delighted to be helping a dynamic, rapidly growing agency, in their search for

a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller. This is an exciting time to be joining this agency finance team providing financial leadership and ensuring the accuracy of their financial reporting. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Financial Controller Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reporting Figures/ Reports to PE backers
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Support on M&A Activity as needed / Acquisition accounting & support on integration
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the CFO
  • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Responsibilities for overseeing the sales ledger and purchase ledger ( bookkeeper)
  • First point of contact for internal finance related queries.
  • Preparation and filing of VAT returns.
  • Oversee payroll operations.
  • Oversee WIP management and liaising with Account management teams
  • Revenue recognition and revenue forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaising with external auditors.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial analysis for senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency within the finance function.
Financial Controller Key Attributes required:
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role within the advertising or media industry
  • PE backed business experience
  • Ideally experience of Xero
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and spreadsheet skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of integrity and commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.
