Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their dynamic finance team. This role offers an attractive salary range of £60,000 - £65,000 and is based in the vibrant city of Manchester. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the preparation of monthly management accounts for businesses across multiple European entities. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large finance team, liaising with peers and contributing to the development of a best-in-class finance function.

What you'll do:

As a Financial Controller, your role will be integral to the smooth running of the finance function. You will be responsible for managing the preparation of monthly management accounts for businesses across Europe. Your excellent organisational skills will enable you to meet tight reporting deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy. You will also be tasked with investigating and explaining variances to budget and forecast, ensuring transparency and accountability at all times. Your ability to develop strong relationships with various teams will facilitate effective business partnering processes.

  • Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts for various businesses under tight reporting deadlines.
  • Investigate and explain variances to budget and forecast.
  • Develop strong relationships with financial systems, FP&A, commercial and credit teams.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for statutory entities including liaison with external auditors.
  • Manage audit process for legal entities.
  • Maintain a strong accounting control environment via monthly balance sheet reconciliation process.
  • Review month-end reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of differences.
  • Manage AR ledgers for relevant businesses.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • High level of IT literacy including use of databases.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Accomplished communication skills, verbal and written.
