Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Interim Group Reporting Accountant to support the financial reporting function for our forward-thinking client based in Trafford Park. You will play a key role in coordinating the annual audit process, assisting with financial statement preparation, and supporting the implementation of new accounting standards. This role will also involve liaising with external auditors, managing consolidation adjustments, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of IFRS and group reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Annual Audit Coordination: Assist with the coordination of the annual audit process for the Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Group policies.
  • External Auditor Liaison: Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, providing required documentation and resolving queries during the audit process.
  • Statutory Returns: Assist in the preparation, review, and submission of statutory returns and other regulatory filings for the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • IFRS Implementation: Support the implementation of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other applicable reporting standards, including non-financial measures such as climate-related disclosures.
  • Consolidation Adjustments: Prepare and post consolidation adjustments, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting.
  • Integration of Acquisitions: Support the integration of newly acquired entities into the Group’s reporting framework, ensuring compliance with financial reporting procedures and standards.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks & Project Work: Assist with ad-hoc tasks and project work as required to support the finance team and other departments within the Group.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified accountant with a strong understanding of IFRS and group financial reporting.
  • Experience in group consolidation and financial reporting processes.
  • Proven ability to liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process effectively.
  • Knowledge of statutory returns and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with implementing new IFRSs and other reporting standards, including non-financial disclosures such as climate reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a Group Reporting role within a multi-entity organisation.
  • Exposure to IFRS 16, IFRS 9, and other recent IFRS updates.
  • Experience working with newly acquired businesses and supporting integration into reporting processes.
