Management Accountant | SaaS | Remote

With a close-knit team of around 50, the company are passionate about innovation and foster a culture that values collaboration and a growth mindset. They are now seeking a motivated Management Accountant to join the team and thrive in the fast-paced environment of a growing tech business.

The Role

Reporting to the Fractional FD, the Management Accountant will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the financial operations. You'll take on a broad range of responsibilities, including managing purchase and sales ledgers, processing payroll, preparing monthly management accounts, and supporting ad hoc finance projects. This is an exciting chance to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the growth of a purpose-driven business.

Responsibilities
  • Management Accounts: Prepare monthly accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments, deferred revenue, and accruals.
  • VAT & Tax: Prepare and submit VAT returns, and support external accountants with R&D tax queries.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist with variance analysis, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Purchase Ledger: Process supplier invoices, manage payments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Expense Management: Oversee the company's platform for credit card transactions and employee expense claims.
  • Sales Ledger: Collaborate with the sales team to issue invoices and monitor accounts receivable, leading credit control efforts.
  • Payroll: Process monthly payroll for UK staff and liaise with external providers for global payroll.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Handle other finance-related projects and requests as needed.
About You

We're seeking someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow. You'll need to be a confident communicator with a solid understanding of financial processes and a genuine passion for sustainability.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance role, with exposure to monthly management accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT and general accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Google Sheets/Excel and experience working in SaaS or tech environments.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
